Ingredients
1
flour
4
margarine
2
water
2
sugar
2
salt
Directions
- Mix by hand the flour, two bars of margarine, sugar, and salt. Make a hole in the center of the mixture to gradually incorporate the water until it reaches the right consistency. With a rolling pin, roll out the dough a little and mark it in the center with a cross. At the mark, work in two bars of margarine, which will be covered with the edges of the dough.
- Roll out the dough again with the rolling pin, form a ball, and repeat the procedure two more times. Once the dough is ready, cover it and let it rest for 1 to 2 hours, then roll out again and cut circles for the empanadas.
- Fill the dough with pineapple and/or strawberry jam. Preheat the oven to 360 degrees for ten minutes and bake the empanadas for 15 to 20 minutes.
- This empanada dough can be used for any type of pastry, whether sweet or savory.
