Ingredients
1 flour
4 margarine
2 water
2 sugar
2 salt
Directions
  1. Mix by hand the flour, two bars of margarine, sugar, and salt. Make a hole in the center of the mixture to gradually incorporate the water until it reaches the right consistency. With a rolling pin, roll out the dough a little and mark it in the center with a cross. At the mark, work in two bars of margarine, which will be covered with the edges of the dough.
  2. Roll out the dough again with the rolling pin, form a ball, and repeat the procedure two more times. Once the dough is ready, cover it and let it rest for 1 to 2 hours, then roll out again and cut circles for the empanadas.
  3. Fill the dough with pineapple and/or strawberry jam. Preheat the oven to 360 degrees for ten minutes and bake the empanadas for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. This empanada dough can be used for any type of pastry, whether sweet or savory.
