Directions
- Put to cook over medium heat 6 cups of milk with cornstarch, removing the foam that forms. Meanwhile dissolve the grated or ground panela in the remaining 2 cups of milk, to add this mixture to the pot along with cinnamon sticks to taste.
- Lower heat and continue cooking without stopping stirring until it reaches its point. If desired, can add fresh grated coconut, raisins, cloves or ½ cup aguardiente. Serve in molds, cover with raisins and cinnamon powder, and let cool. In some preparations, this natilla is bathed using a syrup made with orange blossoms, which is achieved by mixing 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water and ½ cup orange blossom water.
