Queque de Banano (Banana Cake - Traditional Style)

Ingredients
100 gr sifted flour
100 gr sugar
4 eggs
baking powder
1 pinch salt
100 gr melted butter
12 ripe bananas
2 splashes of rum
orange zest
For the syrup:
3 sugar
5 water
½ grated orange zest
Directions
  1. Add to the flour the salt, sugar, baking powder, and eggs and mix everything with the mixer.
  2. Add half of the melted butter.
  3. In the pan, cook the sliced bananas with half of the butter, then add a splash of rum and flambé (set on fire).
  4. Set aside and add to the mixture along with the other splash of rum, also the orange syrup and add the desired amount.
  5. Syrup preparation: Cook over low heat until obtaining a syrup consistency.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°C.
  7. Grease the mold, flour it, and pour in the mixture.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes, then sprinkle powdered sugar on top of the cake.
  9. Bake for 10 more minutes.
  10. To test if it's done, insert a knife and if it comes out clean, your cake is ready.
