12 cup(s) water
1500 gr turtle meat with bones
4 piece(s) green plantains, peeled and split by hand
750 gr yuca (cassava), peeled and chopped
1 piece(s) green bell pepper, finely chopped
2 piece(s) ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped
2 piece(s) white onions, finely chopped
2 clove(s) garlic, finely chopped
1 piece(s) hot pepper, finely chopped (optional)
limes
chopped parsley
pinch salt, cumin, and pepper to taste
Directions
  1. Wash the turtle meat very well with water and lime.
  2. In the water, cook the meat pieces for 2 hours, or until they soften, constantly removing the foam that forms during cooking.
  3. Then add the plantains, yuca, bell pepper, tomatoes, onions, garlic, as well as salt, cumin, and pepper to taste, and let cook over medium heat until all ingredients are tender. If desired, you can add a finely chopped hot pepper.
  4. Serve garnished with chopped parsley and accompany with coconut rice.
