Directions
- Pass the apples through boiling water for approximately 5 minutes.
- Remove and drain.
- Take half and set aside to cover the cake.
- Grind (or blend) the other half, and add the sugar, butter, eggs, starch, baking powder, and crumbled pound cake; knead everything well and place in a buttered mold.
- Cover with a layer of thin apple slices, which are brushed with egg whites using a small brush.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 300°F for 30 minutes, until golden brown.
