Traditional fried cookies from Puntarenas.

Ingredients
1 kg flour
4 cup(s) water
2 kg lard
pinch salt
1 cup(s) sweet (honey)
pineapple or orange peel
Directions
  1. In a bowl, put the flour, a pinch of salt and two cups of water, mix very well and shape into balls, then let rest for a few minutes.
  2. Cut into one-centimeter portions, place on the work surface; 15 minutes later prepare the prestiños, fry in hot lard.
  3. In a pot place the tapa de dulce and the two cups of water, pineapple or orange peel is optional, let boil until thickened, let cool.
