Yuca and Cheese Tamal

Ingredients
1/2 yuca (cassava), peeled and grated
1/2 grated cheese
4 eggs, separated
1 cup(s) sugar
1 salt
1 melted butter
3 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
2 milk
1 cup(s) raisins
Directions
  1. Preheat the oven. Grease a pyrex dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix the yuca and cheese very well.
  3. Beat the egg whites to stiff peaks, add the sugar and salt, then add the yolks one at a time to the yuca mixture and continue beating. To the yuca and cheese mixture, add the melted butter, raisins, and egg whites, little by little, alternating with the dry ingredients and milk. Bake until golden.
