Ingredients
grapefruits in water
package of baking soda
1/2 kg sugar
cinnamon stick
package of red food coloring or strawberry gelatin
fig leaves
Directions
  1. Peel the grapefruits, remove the flesh and leave the thickest part of the peel in water with baking soda overnight, discard the water and boil with water until soft, let cool and drain in a drainer.
  2. In an iron pot, melt the sugar with a little water, the food coloring, and gradually add the grapefruit, cinnamon and fig leaf.
  3. Let the candy preserve well with the grapefruit until they turn bright red, if desired you can sprinkle a bit more sugar to decorate.
