4 piece(s) green or semi-ripe plantains, hartón or dominico variety, peeled and cut
1 kg yuca (cassava), peeled and cut into pieces

Directions
  1. Put the plantains and yucas in a cloth bag (or clean sack) that is placed in a basket tied to a rope.
  2. This is passed over a pole that is above the pot.
  3. Hang and lower the basket until the melado covers it, tie the rope and let cook for 30 minutes.
  4. Lift and let drain well.
  5. Remove the yucas and plantains from the bag, let cool and place in the base of another wider basket, take to another pot containing boiling honey, proceed in the same way, but only leave for one minute to caramelize.
  6. Lift and remove, let cool a little and serve.
