Ingredients
500 gr dried purple corn
1/2 cup(s) grated cheese
1 tbsp butter
pinch sugar to taste
pinch salt to taste
Directions
  1. In a non-metallic container, leave the corn soaking in water at a level that covers it overnight. The next day, wash it well, drain and grind it.
  2. To the resulting dough add grated cheese, butter, sugar and salt to taste, and mix everything until achieving a mixture that can be easily shaped. If the dough lacks moisture, you can add a little water.
  3. Form the arepas and grill or fry them until they are golden.
