Camarones con Anís Sucre (Shrimp with Anise from Sucre)

Ingredients
and peeled
500 gr onion, finely chopped
4 clove(s) garlic, chopped
125 gr butter
1 tbsp crushed anise seed
1/2 piece(s) tablespoon of anise essence (or 1/2 shot of aguardiente)
1 piece(s) glass of dry white wine
1 tbsp wheat flour
1/2 cup(s) heavy cream
pinch salt and pepper to taste
Directions
  1. Sauté the onions and garlic in butter, covered, until transparent.
  2. Add the peeled shrimp (or prawns), anise seeds, salt and pepper, and sauté everything for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the anise essence (or aguardiente), stir and let simmer for another 5 minutes.
  4. Dissolve the flour in the white wine and add, stirring for 5 minutes.
  5. Add the slightly warm cream and mix well until the sauce incorporates and becomes creamy, without letting it boil.
  6. Serve over coconut rice or white rice.
