Ingredients
10 cup(s) basic broth [see p. 304]
750 gr pork hocks, cut into pieces
500 gr potatoes, peeled and cut
500 gr carrots, peeled and cut
250 gr green beans, chopped
250 gr turnips, peeled and cut
250 gr cabbage, chopped
2 piece(s) hard-boiled eggs, sliced
1 tsp capers, chopped
1 tbsp olives, chopped
1 tbsp vinegar
pinch salt and pepper to taste
Directions
  1. Put hocks to cook in 3 cups of basic broth until tender (approximately 1 hour), add rest of broth and vegetables (carrots, potatoes, green beans, turnips and cabbage) and cook for about 30 minutes, 308 until tender.
  2. Add olives, capers, vinegar, salt and pepper (keeping in mind that capers and olives already have salt).
  3. When serving, garnish plates with egg slices.
