Chira Picadillo (Plantain Flower Hash)

Ingredients
1 chira (plantain flower)
water
salt
1 baking soda
1 small onion
2 garlic cloves
1 tomato
1 achiote (annatto)
1 roll(s) culantro (Mexican coriander)
1 cumin
1 Worcestershire sauce
Directions
  1. Remove the leaves and tips from the chira (plantain flower), cook with water, salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking soda to remove the bitterness.
  2. When tender, remove from heat and wash well.
  3. Then chop a small onion and fry with 2 garlic cloves, 1 chopped tomato, 1 teaspoon of achiote, 1 roll of culantro, the teaspoon of cumin, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, and add the finely chopped chira.
  4. Let it boil and absorb all the flavors.
