Ingredients
1000 gr ground lean beef
1 piece(s) bunch of mint
500 gr cracked wheat, soaked overnight and drained
1 piece(s) white onion, finely chopped
2 piece(s) white onions, cut into strips
1 cup(s) pine nuts
2 tbsp butter
pinch salt, allspice, and black pepper to taste
oil for frying
Directions
  1. Take several mint leaves and chop them until you have 1 generous tablespoon.
  2. Mix 1 pound of ground beef, cracked wheat, chopped onion, mint, salt, allspice, and black pepper to taste, and mix with a little cold water.
  3. Grind and knead this dough very well. Take several egg-sized portions and shape them into an oval form that ends in a point at both ends, like zeppelins.
  4. The filling is made by mixing the other pound of ground beef, onions cut into strips, pine nuts, butter, salt, and pepper to taste.
  5. Make a hole in one end of each ball through which a little of the filling is inserted, then close it.
  6. Fry the kibbeh in very hot oil until golden brown.
  7. Serve with lime wedges.
