Directions
- In a pot put the rice, milk, panela syrup, sugar, Jamaica, cinnamon, and cloves. Put on low heat. Stir occasionally until it cooks and becomes quite dry. Add the butter, the beaten egg in a little milk and ½ teaspoon of achiote. Spread in a greased mold and put in the oven until it is well browned. Let it cool and cut into small pieces.
- * Two practically identical recipes were presented, one named 'Torta de arroz' and the other 'Torta de novios', the difference between them was that the second did not have among its ingredients: Jamaica, cloves and dulce de tapa.
