Ingredients
3 piece(s) grapefruits
1/2 strawberry gelatin
4 cup(s) sugar
3 cup(s) water
1 tsp salt
Directions
  1. The three grapefruits should be peeled and cut into 4-slice segments. Then cook over heat with the teaspoon of salt.
  2. When soft, remove pot from heat and discard water.
  3. Let cool and keep changing water to remove much of the bitterness.
  4. SYRUP: In the pot put 4 cups sugar, 3 of water, gelatin packet, and 3 fig leaves.
  5. Let syrup form (should be thick).
  6. Drain grapefruit after a day of changing water, add to pot with ready syrup, and let slowly dry over heat. Finally remove fig leaves.
