Directions
- The three grapefruits should be peeled and cut into 4-slice segments. Then cook over heat with the teaspoon of salt.
- When soft, remove pot from heat and discard water.
- Let cool and keep changing water to remove much of the bitterness.
- SYRUP: In the pot put 4 cups sugar, 3 of water, gelatin packet, and 3 fig leaves.
- Let syrup form (should be thick).
- Drain grapefruit after a day of changing water, add to pot with ready syrup, and let slowly dry over heat. Finally remove fig leaves.
