Ingredients
12 cup(s) water
1500 gr (1 1/2 kg) turtle meat with bones
4 piece(s) green plantains, peeled and broken by hand
1 1/2 piece(s) pound (750 g) yuca (cassava), peeled and chopped
1 piece(s) green bell pepper, finely chopped
2 piece(s) ripe tomatoes, peeled and finely chopped
2 piece(s) onions, peeled and finely chopped
2 clove(s) garlic, finely chopped
pinch salt, pepper and cumin to taste
Directions
  1. Wash turtle very well and put to cook in water until tender, for approximately 2 hours, during which time remove any foam that forms.
  2. Add plantains, yuca, vegetables and spices, and let simmer on medium heat in covered pot until everything is tender (about 30 minutes).
