1 sugar
1 grapefruit pulp segments
food coloring
Directions
  1. Peel the grapefruits and remove the pulp segments. Cook them in water for eight minutes, then remove the water. Squeeze the segments one by one to eliminate the bitterness. Repeat this process three times.
  2. Then leave them in cold water and change the water every hour for a period of four hours.
  3. Once all the bitterness is eliminated from the segments and they're very dry, place them in a pot and add the sugar and coloring. Cook on low heat for an hour and a half, until the sugar becomes caramel and has penetrated the grapefruit.
